I bought a John Byrne Next Men page from the Dark Horse days pretty recently and love it! I’ve always heard and seen from time to time on his forum how much of an a-hole he can be. Like you, I still love the guy’s work. He is one of the best sequential storytellers of all time. I suppose that comes with a price sometimes. I spoke with a former Marvel artist who, early in his career, met JB in the 90’s. He said he got along great with him and they talked a lot about their mutual love of the Fleischer Superman cartoons among other things.
